A Caring Community

Last night I was reminded again why God created us for community. Each week a life group from our church meets in our home. Last night we had a wonderful time of praying for one another. I love the people in our group because as I look at them I know they genuinely love one another. I thank God for people in my life who care for me that way. As you may know, my wife and I are having a baby in June. Well, one couple in our group gave us a bunch of things we would need for the baby...plus toys and clothes. I am just overwhelmed at that kind of generosity. Also, the husband of one of the ladies in our group built a dresser for our baby as a gift to us. This Thursday the ladies in our group are getting together to make meals through this new company that lets you make several meals and freeze them so dinners are done when you get home. They are going to donate some of these meals to a new couple in our community as a way to show they care. This must be what God was talking about when He said the world will know you by your love for one another.
